WAITING FOR COMPANY Thunder and lightning and I am home alone again Rain is beating against the window pain Don't feel like hanging out on the deck today The clouds rolled in and the sun just faded away Getting tired of staring at the computer screen Don't want to be in the library I just sitting here by the old log fire Me and Mr Ballantynes whiskey I am two times waiting for some company Too many days I have been alone this week I am two times waiting for some company Wont somebody drop by and set me free, let me be I cannot wait to have my friends here with me Share the spoils of youth and the scenery the kids are crawling all over the guitar case Man there are having a good time today, but not me Two times waiting for some company Too many days I have been alone this week Two times waiting for some company Wont somebody drop by and set me free, please Now I am sharing the company of my TV I am getting tired of the rehearsed insanity Lights in the drive way lift me from my apathy My love will be home and I will be set free Coz I am Sitting here by the old log fire with a head full of hope and heart full of desire and I missed you baby I am so glad that you are home, I am tired of hanging around here on my own

TOOTHLESS GRIN Sad sad Monday, walking around a sad sad town It was supposed to be a set up day, now it all seems to be falling down Sometimes it seems you never can win, No matter how hard you try The scenery has had a change, It don't seem right as I go driving by Time to rebuild this part of town, Bricks and mortar can come alive Theres a gap at that corner now But old thoughts will survive I am walking down the mainstream to the harbour downtown Its a bit like a toothless grin, where buy our newspapers from now? Chasing memories down at Devils Gap, How do we create some more? Feeling the tragedy of how it was, saw the ship laid up on the shore Watched the breakers from across the leads stared at the lighthouse on the hill If its a beacon that lights the way May the light keep shining still I am walking up the mainstream, to the harbour down town Its bit like toothless grin, gonna miss that downstairs lounge I am waking down the mainstream to the harbour down town Its a bit like a toothless grin, where do we get our meds from now? Now it looks like a combat zone and Wire would be appalled So glad you made it out tip toeing out the back door Flames will be replaced by hope, the afterglow by the rise of dawn There is a hole on this town, but this town, will smile forever more This town, this town will smile forever more, more Smile, smile, smile forever more I am walking up the mainstream to the harbour down town Its a bit like a toothless grin, who's gonna wear that thorny crown?

STRANGER IN TOWN There is a stranger on the edge of this town Moonlight is on the rise but a fog is coming down I see a black dog standing in the middle of the road I watch as a tramp walks by and the dog follows him home No matter where he goes his shadow grows As the leaves fall from the trees in the gutter down below The man walks with a shuffle, a losers gate He is avoiding the cracks in the sidewalk and counting his steps as he goes He used to live in a two storey Californian bungalow He existed with his trophy wife 4 kids and a Holden Monaro Now the wife and the kids they have all left home He has too he just doesn't seem to know There is a stranger in your hometown He is looking for a sign trying to find his way home There is a stranger in your hometown He lives down by the river and he's been to the crossroads And the former queen of hearts who thought she was such a catch She had her way had her day and is still looking for her perfect match This is the hand that he was dealt he does not care and if he does he does not show it He held all of the trumps but somehow still managed to blow it There is a full moon on the rise on the edge of the city On the streets a revolution they have ice in their veins Well the lights are on but going out and there aint nobody at home They have no soul they have no control As the hustlers work the streets with their false tongues and alibis They always seem to get their way even though we know they are lying Well he don't see the point in talking, He would rather just sing his song Sometimes though he really does wonder where the hell to all went wrong. He is a stranger in his hometown Looking for a sign trying to find his way home' He is a stranger in his hometown lives down by the river and he has been to the crossroads

The town sits in the hill behind the harbour and the bay. The roaring forties roam the streets and the alleyways The beach sand has all been washed away Rocks line the shore where there were no obstacles before The home and the acreage lie further on Where the windmill turns in the summer sun The grass is grey that was once green The stock and the wildlife are all green Water no longer runs in the steam On those coastal tracks, on those Island nights I get so tired of driving, I get so tired of fighting On those coastal tracks, on those King Island nights The full moon and tide make the ocean sing, ain't love a curious thing? Hammock rolling idly in the sun Waiting to be filled by anyone The dust from the truck well it clouds the view From the empty porch that knew the youth From the innocent eyes that hid the truth On those coastal tracks, on those Island nights I get so tired of driving I get so tired of fighting On those coastal tracks, on those King Island nights Headlights break the dawn on the coastal scrub, Morning times the time for moving on....
